Sowerby pattern 2031 covered butter dish - 'swan'

Clear butter dish in the form of a swan by Sowerby RD 122393, registered on 30 March 1889.

Note the gap between back of the swan�s neck and the body � an early version; later versions had a glass infill between the back of the swan�s neck and the body to make removal from the mould easier.
