Spinning Crown Glass, Chance Brothers
After blowing, workers used this process whereby the glass was spun to make it grow in diameter, flatten and become incredibly thin - the disk could grow up to five feet (1.5m). This glass was commonly used to create ultra-thin cover slips for microscopic slides. From 'Mirror for Chance', 1951
