RD 594129 was registered by W.J. Myatt & Company Limited, "Argent Works", Frederick Street and Graham Street, Birmingham (Silversmiths) on 29 December 1911 . For some reason, registered in Class 4 [ceramics!].
The EPNS metal base mount is stamped with a maker’s shield mark containing the initials WJM&Co ( believed to be the pre-1899 mark of William James Myatt and Company – the company was established in Birmingham in 1895, and in 1899 became a limited company and altered their stamp mark accordingly, so it may be that the glass epergne was fitted to old metal mount (either at manufacture or some time afterwards).
The mounted epergne is approximately 27 cm in height and 13 cm in diameter.
