This is one of three Trinket Sets Davidson produced based on the 283 pattern of glassware. The 283 range of glassware had been around since 1912.
The set consisted of 6 pieces:
No 4 Oval tray 13 by 8 inches
Two short 2.5 inch high candlesticks
One 3 inch pin trays
Two 4 inch diameter powder jars
Production of the number 4 Tray ceased in 1936. It was manufactured again in flint and coloured glass after the War as part of the 5 piece 5283 Trinket Set.
No Purple Cloud examples of the number 4 tray were made after about 1930.
