RD 798828 was registered by glass importers Hoskins & Rose as one of a batch of registration numbers dated 18 Dec 1934.
This bowl (28.5cm top diam x 15.25cm bottom diam x 12cm deep) was actually manufactured by the Libochovice glassworks in Czechoslovakia. This flared bowl is pattern number 1822/290, and the bowl was also sold as a in-turned variant, pattern number 1822/240.
There was also a 3-legged base, pattern number 1827/160, which on its own looks like a 3-legged vase.The bowl and base could stand alone, or the bowl could stand on the base (stood with the legs pointing upwards as arms) to make an impressive centrepiece.
