Jeannette (US) ‘Poinsettia’ / ‘Floral’ uranium glass vase, 1931-35
|
American Depression glass mould etched vase in pale green uranium glass manufactured by the Jeannette Glass Co., Penn., decorated in their ‘Floral’ / ‘Poinsettia’ pattern, and manufactured between 1931 and 1935. Octagonal foot, with floral design underneath; body of octagonal section, with straight sides tapering outwards (and decorated externally) towards flared rim with slightly scalloped edges. Fluoresces strongly under UV light.
The original company name for this pattern was ‘Floral’, but over the years it has been called ‘Poinsettia’ or ‘Floral Poinsettia’ by collectors, because the raised flowers resemble poinsettia leaves.
