Sowerby pattern 1311 candlestick
An purple malachite glass neo-classical candlestick to a design that is thought to have been taken directly from a Wedgwood pottery catalogue of 1790 (see p71 of Simon Cottle’s ‘Sowerby- Gateshead Glass’). 8¾ inches tall.

Shown on page 12 of Sowerby pattern book XI, 1885 as a registered design, but this example only has the Sowerby peacock head trademark.
